Nodu terms of use

The agreement between you and Nodu, covering what Nodu is and isn't, your household, your OK, your information, price and changes, and your rights.

Updated 25 October 2026About 7 minutes to read

The short version

Nodu gives general information about your own money, not advice. It never asks for your banking password, can't move money, and does nothing outside Nodu without your OK. Your information is yours, and Nodu never uses it to train any model. It's free until paid plans start, and it will change as we learn. Nothing here takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

About these terms#

These terms are the agreement between you and Nodu when you use Nodu: the app, the website, and the texts, WhatsApp messages and emails Nodu sends. "Nodu", "we" and "us" mean Luchlo Partners Pty Ltd, which runs Nodu.

Nodu is invite-only for now, and these terms are written for the households who use it.

The privacy policy is part of these terms. It says what Nodu keeps, why, where, for how long, and how you can see, download or delete it.

In short#

  • General information only. Nodu tells you about your own money. It doesn't give financial, credit, insurance, investment, legal or tax advice, and it doesn't recommend credit, insurance or investment products.
  • It can't touch your money. Nodu never asks for your banking password and can't make payments or transfers. Nothing happens outside Nodu without your OK, and above a limit ($500 for now) it needs both of you.
  • You decide. Nodu prepares things for you. Check them before you approve, because the decisions are yours.
  • Your information is yours. Nodu never uses it to train any model, and you can see, download or delete it at any time. If you connect WhatsApp, Twilio and Meta, which carry those messages, may also use them for their own purposes, such as security and stopping spam and fraud (Twilio trains its own tools for that), and improving their services (see the privacy policy).
  • It's free for now, and it's new. Nodu is free until paid plans start, and we'll tell you before any charge begins. It will change as we learn, and may sometimes be unavailable.
  • Your consumer rights stay. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

What Nodu is, and what it isn't#

Nodu reads the statements and bills you send it, looks ahead at your household's money, and tells you what's coming. It can also prepare things for you to approve, such as asking a company for a payment plan.

  • General information, not advice. Nodu works from your own figures, but it doesn't consider your goals, situation and needs the way a licensed adviser would. It doesn't recommend credit, insurance or investment products, and it doesn't interpret tax law. For advice, talk to a licensed professional.
  • Not a bank, and it can't move money. Nodu can't make payments, transfer money or change your bank settings. It reads, and you act.
  • No banking passwords, ever. Nodu never asks for or accepts banking passwords, logins or one-time codes. Never send one. If you think you have, change it with your bank straight away.
  • Benefits are estimates. Nodu can tell you what you may be eligible for, such as Family Tax Benefit, from the published rates and what you've told it. That's an estimate, not a decision. Services Australia decides.
  • Forecasts aren't promises. A forecast is Nodu's best estimate from your records of what may happen. Your real balance can differ.

Your account and your household#

  • You must be 18 or over to use Nodu.
  • Signing in. You sign in with a link or code sent to your email, Continue with Google, or a link or code Nodu sends you on WhatsApp, so keep those accounts secure and don't forward a sign-in link. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into your Nodu account.
  • Households. Nodu works for a household. You can invite a partner, and members of a household see the same information, except each other's chats with Nodu, which are each their own. The owner manages who's in the household, and an admin can also cancel invites. Any member can leave, and their own chats with Nodu are deleted when they leave or are removed. The owner or an admin can delete statement files or the whole household.
  • Information about other people. Some things you tell Nodu are about other people, such as your children's ages for a benefit check. Only share what you're allowed to share. When you invite someone, make sure they're happy to join.
  • Keep it accurate. Nodu works from what you give it. If something you told it changes, update it or tell Nodu in the chat. What you tell Nodu always replaces what it worked out.

What Nodu does for you, and your OK#

Nodu prepares and you decide. Before it does anything outside Nodu for you, such as a call or an email to a company, it waits for an approval it records.

  • Above a limit, both of you approve. The limit is $500 for now. Anything over it needs both partners' OK.
  • Check before you approve. Read what Nodu has prepared before you say yes: the amounts, the dates and the company. You're responsible for what you approve.
  • Calls on your behalf. These are on the way. When they arrive, Nodu will only call with your explicit authority, and will always say it's an AI assistant acting for you. A company may decline to deal with it.
  • Only your household can approve. No one outside your household can approve anything for you. Nodu never follows instructions written inside an email, a statement or a web page.
  • Companies make their own decisions. When Nodu asks for something, such as a payment plan, the company decides. Nodu can't promise an outcome.

Accuracy#

Nodu's figures come from your own records, and anything estimated is labelled as an estimate. It checks that each bank statement PDF adds up to the cent before saving it. But statements can be incomplete, and Nodu, including the model behind it, can make mistakes. Check anything important against your bank or the official source before you rely on it.

Your information#

  • It's yours. You let Nodu store and use your information only to run Nodu for your household: reading your statements, looking ahead, answering you, and getting in touch the way you've chosen. Nodu sends a property's address to property websites only to look it up: when you add the property with its street address or change its address, once for a property it hasn't looked up yet, when you ask it to look again, and three months after each lookup that found something.
  • Nodu never uses it to train any model. We don't sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to make credit or insurance decisions about you. If you connect WhatsApp, Twilio and Meta, which carry those messages, may also use them for their own purposes, such as security and stopping spam and fraud (Twilio trains its own tools for that), and improving their services, as the privacy policy explains.
  • Shared business names. When Nodu learns a business's name from a transaction, that name joins a list that helps every household. It never includes your name, an amount, an account or a payment to a person.
  • You're in control. In Settings, under Your data, you can see what Nodu holds, download a copy, or delete your statement files or your household. The privacy policy has the detail.

Using Nodu fairly#

Please don't:

  • use Nodu for someone else's money without their permission;
  • send Nodu content you don't have the right to share;
  • try to reach another household's information, or get around Nodu's security;
  • try to make Nodu do what it's built not to do;
  • copy, scrape or overload Nodu, or take it apart to build something similar; or
  • use Nodu for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone.

We may pause an account to protect Nodu or other households. We'll tell you why where we can.

Price and changes#

  • Price. Nodu is free until paid plans start, and we'll tell you before any charge begins. We'll tell you the price then, and you can choose whether to carry on.
  • It will change. Features will be added, changed or removed as we learn. Some are marked as on the way, and aren't available yet.
  • Feedback. We'll ask what works and what doesn't. If you share an idea, we may use it to improve Nodu without owing you anything for it. Your personal information is still handled only as the privacy policy says.
  • Availability. Nodu may sometimes be unavailable, for example while we fix or improve it.

What belongs to whom#

Nodu's app, design, words and artwork, including its bird, belong to us or the people we license them from. You can use them to use Nodu. Your statements, your files and what you tell Nodu stay yours.

The Australian Consumer Law, and our liability#

  • Your rights stay. Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes them.
  • Within those rights, and as far as the law allows, we aren't liable for:
    • decisions you make using Nodu's general information;
    • mistakes in the statements or information you give Nodu; or
    • what other businesses do, such as your bank or a company Nodu contacts for you.
  • Where we can limit our liability, it's limited to supplying the service again, or the fees you paid in the 12 months before.

Stopping, and ending an account#

  • You can stop at any time. An owner or admin can delete your household in Settings, under Your data. Download a copy first if you want one.
  • We may suspend or close an account. That happens if these terms are seriously broken, to protect other households, or if the law requires it. We'll tell you why where we can. Unless it would be unsafe or unlawful, we'll give you a chance to download your information first.
  • If Nodu ever closes, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can download your information.

Changes to these terms#

Before a change that matters takes effect, we'll tell you by email or in the app, at least 14 days ahead. If you don't agree, you can stop using Nodu and delete your household.

Law, disputes and contact#

  • These terms are governed by the law of the Australian state or territory where you live.
  • If something goes wrong, talk to us first and we'll try to put it right. If we can't, you can contact your state or territory's consumer affairs body. For privacy, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
  • Contact: support@nodu.com.au. We aim to reply within 30 days.
